Not surprising... especially if you've read any of Michael Pollan's books. My favs: Food Rules and In Defense of Food.
Did you know that only 20 years ago there were over 1,000 meat production companies and now there are 13?! And why can't the FDA regulate those companies and hand out fines? Because the companies took the FDA to court (you should be laughing right now, at the idiocy) and won, allowing these meat producers to do whatever the heck they want to food they are selling to consumers. Something is very wrong with this picture.
For me, the saddest part of the movie is that people, good people and farmer's, are being put out of work or forced out of business by companies who want to play Mr. Capitalist. I'm angered and even more convinced to buy fresh and buy local than ever before.
I believe we can change the way we feed ourselves... don't you?
